Yusuf (AS)
When you are wronged

Yusuf (AS)

Sold into slavery and wrongly imprisoned, he forgave with dignity. His story reminds us that how you respond to injustice defines you, not the injustice itself.

Life can be unfair. People you trust can betray you. You might be punished for crimes you didn't commit. But the story of Yusuf (AS) is the ultimate proof that truth prevails and character conquers all.

From the Well to the Palace to the Prison

Yusuf’s life was a series of traumatic events: betrayal by his own brothers, being sold as a slave in a foreign land, and facing sexual harassment from a powerful woman. When he refused to compromise his values, he was thrown into prison for years, forgotten and slandered.

Whatever the world successfully took from him his freedom, his family, his reputation it could not take his connection with Allah. In the darkness of the prison, he became a source of light for others.

The Rise to Power

Allah’s timing is perfect. Yusuf’s ability to interpret dreams eventually led to his release and his appointment as the Minister of Egypt. He saved the nation from starvation. The boy from the well was now the most powerful man in the land.

The Moment of Justice

When his brothers, who had ruined his life, stood before him trembling, expecting revenge, Yusuf (AS) uttered one of the most beautiful lines in history:

"No blame will there be upon you today. Allah will forgive you; and He is the most merciful of the merciful." (Quran 12:92)

The Lesson

When you are wronged, you have a choice: you can let bitterness poison your heart, or you can hand your case to Allah and focus on your own excellence (Ihsan). Yusuf didn't let his trauma define him; he let his trust in Allah define him. Your validation comes from Heaven, not from the people who hurt you.
